John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people through his music. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born Henry John Germandorf at Roswell located in the state of New Mexico, fell in love with Colorado. The place he settled was Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have been a major influence on many to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared it was because John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of Fame ever to be inducted. Denver has become the image of Colorado for a lot of people around the world. If you travel with me, you may meet people at opposite sides of the world. Like, for instance, people who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado the response is "Oh John Denver!" Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 hits after performing with small folk bands. It was co-written and performed by Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the song in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential when he first heard it. Just a few days after singing to an enthusiastic crowd at Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
